Ti 5AL-2.5Sn

The titanium alloy Ti-5AL-2.5Sn (also known as Ti 5-2.5) is generally comprised of 89.85% – 94% of titanium (Ti), 4% – 6% aluminum (Al), and 2 – 3% of tin (Sn). Trace amounts of other components that make of Ti 5-2.5 include nitrogen (N), carbon (C), oxygen (O), iron (Fe) and hydrogen (H). The UNS code for Ti6-4 is UNS R54520.

Ti 5-2.5 forged parts are sought after for many applications because of their high tensile strength and for having good resistance to many corrosive elements. Unlike other titanium alloys, Ti 5-2.5 material is not heat treatable – which one must consider when selecting titanium alloys for forging needs.
