#10: The Birth of 48089Rising, A Resource of Faith for Warren

Rick Warren, Weldaloy’s owner and Chairman, spearheaded the creation of 48089Rising, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Warren, Michigan community. With only 20 active churches serving 32,000 residents, this faith-based initiative brings local religious leaders together to provide spiritual growth and community outreach, addressing critical challenges and opportunities within the city.

#9: Connecting at Major Trade Shows and Conferences

Weldaloy participated in key industry events, including:

  • PowerGen International: Showcasing advancements in forging for power generation, including oil, gas, and green energy.
  • SemiCon West: Highlighting our 40+ years of expertise in sputtering target backing plates.
  • Titanium USA: Engaging with industry leaders and supplier in titanium forging.
  • Space Symposium: Demonstrating our critical role in international space initiatives.
  • Copper and Brass Supply Chain Conference: Showcasing our expertise in “red metals and learning about the latest industry trends with other key players in the production and distribution process.
  • Artemis Suppliers Conference: Eleven prime contractors presented their critical role for this exciting program.

These conferences allowed us to strengthen relationships, showcase our capabilities, and stay at the forefront of industry trends.

#7: Supporting Michigan’s Aerospace Industry with AIAM

Weldaloy continued its leadership within the Aerospace Industry Association of Michigan (AIAM), serving as a lead sponsor for the AeroOne Conference and VIP dinner, as well as the AIAM annual golf outing. We are proud to support Michigan’s status as a hub for aerospace innovation.

#6: Strengthening Industry Ties with AeroLambda Group

We supported The Aerospace Event, a bi-annual conference hosted by Joanna Speed’s AeroLambda Group, connecting with aerospace thought leaders to discuss vital concerns and emerging developments. Fernando Lozano and Greg Spalding represented Weldaloy, fostering valuable industry relationships.

#5: Adding Our Voice to the Aerospace Industries Association

Weldaloy’s engagement with the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) reached new heights as CEO Andrew Smith was elected to the AIA Board of Governors. The AIA continues to provide a platform for addressing key issues in the aerospace and defense industries, with Fernando Lozano and Greg Spalding leading Weldaloy’s participation.

#4: Soaring to New Heights at the Farnborough Air Show

Our delegation, including Fernando Lozano, Greg Spalding, Amber Ruhle, Eric Bergman, and Alejandra Canales showcased Weldaloy’s expanded seamless rolled ring capabilities at the Farnborough Air Show. With a busy booth and strong industry interest, we’re eagerly anticipating the Paris Air Show in 2025.

#3: Major Expansion of Weldaloy’s Campus Fully Online

Early in 2024, we completed a 36,000 sq. ft. expansion of our Warren campus. Plant 6 now houses an SMS Group ring mill, a new 3,000-ton press, and larger forge furnaces, enabling us to forge seamless rolled rings up to 120” in diameter. This investment significantly enhances our production capacity and capability.

#2: Weldaloy Metallurgical Lab Earns NADCAP Certification
In November, Weldaloy Metallurgical Laboratory (WML) achieved NADCAP accreditation for materials testing, just two years after its founding. Led by Dr. Ramachandra Canumalla (Dr. Ram), the lab’s rapid progress reflects the exceptional efforts of a talented team, positioning WML as a center of excellence in materials testing.
#1: Weldaloy Receives Major Aerospace Certifications and Approvals
Weldaloy earned S1000 Certification and S291 Forging Approval in November, following a rigorous approval process of our entire team which was led by Fernando Lozano, Greg Spalding, and Jonathan Meyer. These prestigious certifications validate our ability to deliver aerospace-grade forged components that meet stringent safety and performance standards, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner in the aerospace industry. The certifications will open numerous opportunities in the jet engine market.
